The community driven initiative tackling plastic pollution at a grass roots level has been active in Floreat since 2019, with local volunteers sewing and distributing over 2000 bags using pre-loved fabric at their regular sewing bees.
The Boomerang Bag Floreat group rely on volunteers and donated or discarded materials to create their colourful shopping bags. Community members are welcome to join the volunteers cutting, sewing, ironing or sorting fabric at their regular sewing bees.
